What You’ll Do
As a Design Engineer, you will provide Initiation Systems (IS) Engineering design skill to manufacturing programs in support of key technological manufacturing advancement and cost reduction initiatives. Other duties include:
Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safetyEnsure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulationsLive and foster the IPL Corporate ValuesDevelop best practice solutions for projects/tasks at handDevelop equipment designs and specifications for procurementEvaluate prospective equipment suppliers and contractorsCoordinate small to medium scale projects & programsContribute to process & equipment solutions and supplier development effortsDeal with broad cross-functional technical issuesUnderstand and adopt all appropriate regulatory & safety needs to programsDeliver the goods as promised to achieve financial targetsParticipate in HSE studies such as Job Safety Analysis, HAZOPs, Process Hazard Analysis, and Management of ChangeHands-on interaction is expected during process design and development, design reviews, assembly and testing, safety reviews, installation and commissioning.
What We’re Looking For:
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering - Will consider degree in Mechatronics.5+ years in industry with a proven track record in detailed equipment and process design, component selection, and procurement, schedule and cost management, project team leadership, problem solving, system design and installation, start-up, and commissioning.CAD Design experience including 3D solid modelingFamiliar with automated process control in manufacturing Knowledge of electrical controls, and Pneumatic systemsSolid mechanical engineering skills, project management experience.Experience with automated equipment and processes.Ability to identify process needs, develop designs, and generate specifications for procurement and installationMust be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
