Description
The engineer will employ design strategies to fulfill successful execution of projects based on customer requirements. The engineer will work with the Project Managers, Account Managers, and Manufacturing Engineering to scope potential projects, innovate design ideas, create prototypes, review possible improvements, perform validation testing, and complete cost analyses to determine pricing which will be profitable and competitive.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
•\tComplete 3D design and 2D drawings based on specifications for each application.
•\tWork on “Ongoing” projects to bring new designs and production capabilities into the business.
•\tGenerate unique design solutions for customer-specific applications.
•\tGenerate full production documentation and bills of materials for production.
•\tCommunicate with the production department and Manufacturing Engineering to resolve part fabrication, assembly, and testing issues.
•\tHandle post-production issues with projects.
•\tRegularly meet with the engineering team to discuss strategies to improve design practices and efficiencies to improve quality and increase throughput.
•\tProcess ECRs to capture all changes or errors caught during production .
Qualifications
•\tAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field. 3+ years of Design Engineer experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally dealing with sheet metal, tubing, wire and wood.
•\tExperience developing product design for manufacturing.
•\tStrong SolidWorks experience.
•\tProject development skills are essential.
•\tMinimum of 3 years of wide-ranging experience in the development, implementation, and technical support with sustaining or improving product manufacturing process with responsibility for results, including costs and methods.
•\tDemonstrated ability to work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
•\tDemonstrated experience in determining the best use of resources to meet the goals of assignments received in the form of objectives.
•\tAble to follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.86/hr.
