Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional in mechanical engineering who is passionate about designing and improving PPE products. As part of our engineering team, you will contribute to the development, testing, and optimization of protective equipment that meets safety standards and user needs. This is an on-site position with no travel required.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development: Assist in the design and prototyping of PPE products, such as hoods, PAPRs, and related products. Conduct CAD modeling and drafting to support design concepts. Collaborate with senior engineers to refine designs based on testing and feedback. Testing and Analysis: Support product testing to evaluate durability, functionality, and compliance with safety standards. Analyze test results and suggest improvements to enhance performance. Assist in preparing technical documentation, including test reports and design specifications. Compliance and Standards: Learn and apply relevant certification standards Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements and company guidelines. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and product management. Communicate progress and findings to supervisors and team members. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize materials, production processes, and product designs. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in PPE technology.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with materials commonly used in PPE Basic knowledge of testing equipment and methods. Internship or academic project experience in product design or safety equipment.
Work Environment:
Office-based role with occasional work in a testing lab. 2-3 days onsite required Standard 40-hour workweek with no travel required.
