As our Design Engineer in New Product Development you will develop products that meet customer needs and company standards. You will collaborate with teams to ensure the successful launch and performance of new products. You will report to the Director of Technology under our DF&H Division. On a given day, you may: Lead and contribute to the brainstorming, conceptualization, and development of beverage packaging solutions. Conduct market research to identify new trends, technologies, and materials relevant to the beverage packaging industry. Collaborate with teams to translate consumer insights and market needs into applicable product concepts. Evaluate and experiment with novel materials to enhance the performance, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness of beverage packaging solutions. Stay up to date with advancements in material science, ensuring our products remain at the forefront of the industry. Oversee the testing phases of new product development, ensuring that designs meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Implement rigorous testing protocols to validate the performance and durability of new packaging concepts. Work with our teams, including marketing, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of new products into the production pipeline. Maintain detailed records of research activities, experiments, and results. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to update partners on the progress of ongoing projects. Requirements for the role Bachelor's degree in engineering 5 years of relative experience in the packaging industry with a focus on food or beverage Experience research and development Experience with materials, manufacturing processes, and quality standards. Excellent project management and organizational abilities. You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future. Travel & Location You will be on site at our Eastlake, OH facility. You may need to travel to other teams to perform testing. You may need to travel to customer facilities to support machine commissioning and validate testing during New product Development Beta machine. Why work at JBT ...
