Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing major components or portions of functional systems, advanced prototypes, promotional products, and specific products. This role involves developing and improving products, facilitating manufacturing operations, and ensuring designs meet all necessary specifications and standards. Key Responsibilities: + Design major components or portions of functional systems, advanced prototypes, promotional products, and specific products. + Develop and improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. + Create preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes to present design proposals. + Investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost. + Coordinate with other organizations affected by design development. + Create layouts of assemblies and detailed parts of devices, mechanisms, structures, and products. + Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. + Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers. Basic Required Qualifications: + Ability to obtain security clearance + Completed Bachelor's Degree (preferred in Mechanical Engineering) + Minimum of 3 years of Design Engineer experience + Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) + Experience with 3D Models and detailed design (preferred knowledge of CREO version 9) + CREO design and modeling experience + Experience in Windchill Desired Skills: + Active Secret Clearance + Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is Required to be considered for this role.
