Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design customized equipment using 2D and 3D design software to create models and manufacturing drawings. You will also investigate new design processes and tools, communicate project decisions, and manage project costs.
ResponsibilitiesDesign customized equipment utilizing 2D and 3D design software to create models and manufacturing drawings.Investigate and document new design processes and tools with the Product Teams.Communicate project decisions and deliverables with the Project Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, and Project Manager.Evaluate project cost impacts related to materials, engineering labor, and design decisions.Apply principles of designing for manufacturability.Interface with Manufacturing and external Suppliers for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.Organize in-house resources.Train and mentor junior staff.Plan and obtain additional work authorizations for scope changes.Work on building prototypes and field test units for new products.Assist in bringing new products from R&D to commercial units.Convert sales drawings into production engineering drawings with applications engineers.Coordinate project requirements and work with various departments to ensure project completion, documentation, scheduling, factory acceptance testing, and delivery of equipment.Travel to supervise the installation and commissioning of equipment as necessary.Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.Essential SkillsProficiency in design and modeling using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.Mechanical engineering expertise with 3D modeling and mechanical design.Experience in project management.Ability to design for manufacturability.Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge.Ability to calculate loads and deflections.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.Exceptional customer service skills with both external and internal customers.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in machine design.3-4 years’ experience with 2D and 3D design software (Design and Basic Analysis).Self-motivated and innovative.Work Environment
The position is based in an engineering office within a manufacturing facility. It is a salaried exempt position. You will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment on exciting projects for a multi-national company.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 4‐5 years’ experience in machine design
3-4 years’ experience with 2D & 3D design software (Design and Basic Analysis)
Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge
Mechanically inclined (calculate loads and deflections)
Must be self‐motivated and innovative
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines
Excellent customer service skills with external and internal customers
