Job Title: Design EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Design Engineer to provide primary support for certified fielded products and secondary support for new designs. The focus will be on control systems, specifically the HF120 Fuel Pump and Metering Unit, as well as associated sensors and other aircraft engine fuel system components.
Responsibilities
+ Support the resolution of problems encountered during production and field operations, following appropriate regulations, standards, and publications.
+ Implement corrective actions, including design changes per company procedures.
+ Work with all parties involved to ensure successful progress throughout the development process.
+ Identify regulatory and design requirements to ensure product success.
+ Develop creative solutions to meet regulatory and product requirements.
+ Create and maintain development plans to achieve project goals, including product weight and cost reduction.
+ Design and manufacture test equipment to support local testing.
+ Generate test plans, execute or oversee testing, collect and reduce data, and write test procedures and reports.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in fuel pump and control design.
+ Familiarity with FAA requirements.
+ Proficiency in MATLAB and SIM CENTER systems.
+ Strong root cause analysis skills.
+ Experience with engine suppliers and component suppliers.
+ Ability to improve product and field issues.
+ Experience in implementing design changes, improving testing, and substantiating documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
+ Minimum of 10 years of design experience, preferably related to aircraft engine fuel/control system components (open to candidates with a minimum of 5 years of experience).
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Knowledge and experience using precision measuring instruments.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
+ Proficiency with 3D modeling and familiarity with computational software.
+ Knowledge of control systems, hydraulic principles, jet engine operation, and FAA regulations.
Work Environment
The role requires working with control systems, including the HF120 Fuel Pump and Metering Unit, and associated sensors (speed, temperature, and pressure). The position includes occasional travel (5% domestic, some international) and requires comfort with the smell of jet fuel. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
