Job Title: Design Engineer
Job Description

The Design Engineer I is responsible for the production engineering of products sold. This position serves as the technical lead for assigned jobs and supports other jobs as needed.

ResponsibilitiesReview and apply project specifications; summarize for design and fabrication drawings.Serve as the primary technical contact with clients, including problem resolution and securing necessary customer document approvals.Coordinate with other departments to gather information needed for technical activities (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Welding Engineer, Project Manager).Perform and/or check design calculations.Create pre-Bill of Materials (BOM) to order long lead materials.Coordinate with drafting personnel to complete fabrication drawings.Review fabrication drawings for the job; create or modify fabrication drawings as needed.Answer questions and provide support to Purchasing and Manufacturing.Manage and organize electronic records associated with assigned jobs.Essential SkillsProficiency in Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Products.Experience with RCS or COMPRESS design software.Knowledge of mechanical engineering, design for manufacturing, and bill of materials (BOM).Experience with shell and tube heat exchangers.Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical field from an accredited university, or an Associate's degree plus 10 years of industry-related experience, or 15 years of directly related industry experience showing progression to competency of essential job functions.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with ASME Section VIII Div. 1 design and construction standards.Experience in mechanical design, pressure vessels, and fabrication.Work Environment

Work is performed in an office setting with business casual attire, including a collared shirt. Typical work hours range between 40-50 hours per week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
