This position focuses on design checking of interior drawings (seats, walls, handles, doors, belts, etc.), and does not involve avionics or new design creation. The role includes reviewing high quantities of drawings in CATIA, supporting the development and review of validation and verification plans, and ensuring supplier designs meet fit, form, function, and weight budget requirements. Responsibilities + Review mechanical systems engineering drawings within the aircraft interiors. + Support the development and review of validation and verification plans. + Ensure supplier designs meet fit, form, and function requirements while adhering to weight budgets. + Review and release supplier-provided drawings. + Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers throughout design and production. Essential Skills + Minimum 8 years of experience in design and design checking. + Proficiency with mechanical design and background in aerospace interiors. + Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Astronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering. + Experience with CATIA V5. + Proficiency in CAD software (preferably 3DEXPERIENCE or CATIA V5/V6). + Knowledge of GD&T standards and tolerance analysis. + Knowledge of PLM and requirements management tools (Enovia or 3DEXPERIENCE a plus). Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to work autonomously and review drawings for accuracy. + Significant experience with aircraft interiors (drawings of seats, walls, handles, doors, belts). + Experience in mechanical systems, design control, and design validation. Work Environment The position is based at the Tustin Headquarters, which features a dynamic and innovative workspace designed to foster creativity and collaboration. The contract is for 6 months or more, with a straight 40-hour workweek in Pacific Time. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
