Job Description
The Design Engineer is responsible for creating 2D and 3D designs of pumping systems and industrial equipment based on client specifications. They will use AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create the designs. The Design Engineer will support bill of materials (BOM), drawings, work instructions, test instructions, and provide technical support.
ResponsibilitiesPerform design work and engineering tasks.Coordinate the activities of the design and engineering department to ensure effective design and manufacture of equipment to maximize profits and customer satisfaction.Prepare design and production packages.Conduct technical reviews of incoming new equipment orders.Provide technical support to the service department for machines already in operation.Lead final testing and quality inspection activities to ensure that machines meet design specifications before shipment.Ensure that machines built meet company safety standards.Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drawing.Experience with SolidWorks or Siemens NX for 3D design.Ability to read technical drawings and perform mechanical design.Knowledge of work instructions, BOM, rotating equipment, industrial machinery, and assembly drawings.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering.Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing field.Experience with AutoCAD and 3D design software (SolidWorks).Understanding of rotating machinery in an industrial application is preferred.Work Environment
This position is 100% onsite at a smaller site in Whittier, CA. The workday starts at 7:30 or 8:00 AM and is flexible as long as 8 hours are completed. The team consists of three engineers - two Design Engineers and one Electrical Engineer - and they are looking to add another Design Engineer. The role allows for career development within the company and offers the opportunity to wear many hats, including supporting quality, testing, and production. The Design Engineer will work directly with a Tenured Design Engineer who has been with the company for 10 years.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
