Position Summary: Regal Rexnord is looking for a dynamic person with 5+ years of experience in the area of Industrial power transmission. This position is within Industrial Components team focusing primarily on New product development and supporting VAVE projects.  This position will be responsible for driving multiple NPD projects, reviewing and approving the concepts, designs and component selections.

Major Responsibilities:  This position will include the following activities:

Lead engineering team to complete New Product Development projects through Customer Focused Innovation (CFI) stage gate process.Develop and review detailed concepts, designs, specifications of new products.Conduct Concept design and Detail design reviews.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to fully execute project deliverables like NPD technical deliverables, PPAP approvals, design verification testing plan/report, drawings release and BOM management through ECN process.Work on VAVE projects involving design change, cost savings, product enhancement etc.Understand manufacturing process, process capabilities and establish tolerances using knowledge of components and assemblies used and intended function.Work on competitor analysis, benchmarking and keep up to date on industry trends, advancements in bearings and chain technology.Work with CAD designer to prepare part, drawings and assembly 3D models in Solid Edge/Solid Works. Perform quality checks on the drawings/designs generated.Create design documents such as installation instructions, customer data sheets etc.Create test plan for lab testing and simulation plan using tools like Finite Element Analysis to validate the concepts and final designs.Provide inputs to FEA team and providing solutions based on FEA results data.Coordinate with in-house teams for CAD, testing, FEA and Project management activities.Coordinate with vendors to build prototypes, test fixtures and production tooling’s.Generate intellectual property for bearing and chain product line.Assist in the development of new/modified/improved technologies aimed at bearings and chain products.Provide project updates to business units on weekly basis and in biweekly pulse meetings.

Required Education / Experience:

Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in any mechanical industryExposure to power transmission products will be an added advantageCandidates with good academics and learning ability will be preferred. Minimum 70% marks in 10th and 12th  or equivalent examinationProficient with drawings and models using CAD software (SolidWorks/Solid Edge/AutoCAD – Any of these)Green Belt or DFLSS certification will be an added advantagePrior FEA knowledge is a plusProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power PointAbove average verbal and written communication skillsPrior project management and PDCA methodology experience is a plus.Experience in cost reduction-VAVE projects/in industrial product design in a reputed company. Experience in a global/multinational company an added advantage.Ability to interact and work closely with Global teams to complete project deliverablesCan effectively function in a team environment
