**The Opportunity**
This position works out of our Zona Franca Coyol Alajuela, Building B31 location in the Vascular Division.
As the Design Engineer III, you’ll be responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering department, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, apply engineering principles, physics and materials science for the analysis and estimating to create or improve manufacturing systems or processes working with engineers and other functional areas.
**What You’ll Do**
+ Lead, draft, and design layout of equipment, fixtures, materials, and workstations to illustrate maximum efficiency, using computer drafting tools, lean concepts, and simulation software.
+ Calculate cost estimates for final product designs, release reports to users, incorporating costs of labor, material, delivery.
+ Develop and build prototypes and run tests to measure their level of function.
+ Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards.
+ Responsible for preparing and presenting mechanical designs at design reviews.
+ Works closely with operations, EHS and manufacturing engineers to ensure products are designed to meet user needs.
+ Coordinate with internal and external machine shops the construction of parts and assemblies according to drawing specifications.
**Administrative Shift [from 8am to 5:00pm]**
**This is an On Site position**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree: industrial design, mechanical
+ 3 years of experience in a medical devices or related industries
+ Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish)
+ Proficiency with CAD, 3D modeling software, SolidWorks.
+ Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively.
+ Strong computer and mathematical skills.
+ Ability to understand/produce technical drawings.
+ Good communication skills.
+ Dealing with other employees and external clients.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ GD&T certification.
+ SolidWorks CSWP.
+ AutoCAD.
