Contributions
As a Design Intelligence® Coach, you will be responsible for guiding project delivery teams through our Design Intelligence® (DI) framework, incorporating human-centered design and Agile project management methods to solve technology modernization and transformation challenges for our Federal clients.
Responsibilities include:
Advocating for the integration of HCD and DI throughout a project lifecycleOnboarding new team members on our DI framework and how best to incorporate it into their role within a project team and supporting new employees' familiarity with DI at various touchpoints across the onboarding journeyCollaborating with internal Stakeholders (including Program Leadership, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Design Leads, Practice Leads, Agile Coach, and Director of Quality and Customer Success) to implement a disciplined approach to DI to drive consistency and effectiveness across portfoliosAssessing each project team’s maturity of DI, identifying specific areas for improvement, and working with the team to implementHelping to educating designers on Agile methods and best practices and non-designers on HCD and design best-practicesFacilitating Team Forming and/or Norming sessions, assisting in establishing templates, guiding documents (e.g., problem definitions, project vision statements, team charters, etc.), and helping create feedback loops to foster communication and continual improvement on delivery teamsDeveloping and producing content and presentations on DI case studies and best practices for our internal learning platform Contributing to white papers, RFI’s, RFP’s and other biz dev efforts as a DI SME Qualifications Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearanceDegree or equivalent experience in HCD, HCI, design management or design operations8+ years of experience practicing HCD and leading a team or practice focused on technology integration, modernization, or transformationExperience with hands-on team coaching and mentorship Deep understanding of the varying disciplines of design roles within a product teamExperience working on a scrum team within an Agile delivery frameworkA demonstrated aptitude for nurturing cross-functional relationships, building team engagement, and fostering growth mindsetsExperience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including designers, technologists, data scientists, engineers, solution architects, and change managersA natural curiosity for solving problems coupled with strong critical thinking and analytical skillsA collaborative nature with excellent written communication and presentation skillsMust be local to DMV area and have the ability to come onsite to our DI Studio About steampunkSteampunk is a Change Agent in the Federal contracting industry, bringing new thinking to clients in the Homeland, Federal Civilian, Health and DoD sectors.
