JR51598 Design Manager, Global Facilities & Construction North Asia

As the Design Manager for the Global Facilities & Construction North Asia Regional Department at Micron Technology, you will be responsible to provide high quality Engineering services and support for the planning, design, and construction of our subject area various Facilities systems in support of the Semiconductor Manufacturing sites across the Micron Manufacturing Network in North Asia region (China, Taiwan and Japan). In this role, we support the Facilities Teams and Manufacturing sites as the Technical Domain Expert through all phases of design, construction, installation, and start-up with focus and emphasis on Global Standardization and Alignment, Innovation, Reliability and Performance, and Sustainability!

Manage Design for Projects

Provide leadership among facilities subject areas such as Electrical, Mechanical, UPW/Wastewater, Gas, Chemical, I&C, CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) and BIM to prepare robust design for construction project from technical and cost point of views.Provide Support to engineers work in facilities design.Be a central point of contact of each project design for site Facilities engineers, vendor engineers, Global Facilities engineers, and procurement.Manage overall design steps and schedule from design start to 100% completion.Maintain list of design problems and follow up till resolved.Supervise progress and provide engineering support during design as required per project if necessary.Ensure designs align with Global Standard, codes, and regulations.  Ensure all the past construction lessons learned reviewed and implemented appropriately in each field.Ensure the project meets the required timeline with meeting key achievements.Consolidate the project cost with breakdown of each field.  Identify long lead items with the required timings.Lead value engineering to optimize and minimize cost.Manage accuracy of the TUM (Tool Utility Matrix) data across the required utilities, each Facilities systems capacity utilization to be within standard, the MOR supplemental Tool Facilitation Information program.Provide supervision and coordination of consultant resources required.

Provide Technical Support, Leadership, and Expertise

Provide consultation and support to Site Facilities & Manufacturing teamCollaborate with internal partners and collaborators including Technology Development Team, Procurement, Finance, Legal, etc.Responsible for Micron system, equipment, and component Standards, Specifications, and Best Known Methods (BKMs)Align standards for Engineering and Design concepts, and Construction Project execution.Support sites with problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies as requestedBenchmark within and external to Micron sites on Engineering Best Practices and BKM of Facilities buildings and systemsMaintain leading technical knowledge on your respective area including for Industry Trends and Technological advances, emerging technology roadmap, Design Innovations, Sustainability, etc.)

Provide Design and Construction Project Support, Leadership, and Expertise

Support new large-scale, Facilities Infrastructure Expansion projectsDevelop the system design concepts and standards to be deployedEnsure appropriate communication with local Facilities, Design, Construction, Procurement and Manufacturing partners as required to deliver project objectivesParticipate and/or lead capacity and scenario planning, including evaluation of system and distribution capacity impacts based on scenarioReview and advise on scope, schedule, and cost estimates for Facilities infrastructure additions or modifications

Demonstrate EHS ownership

Follow all safety and environmental procedures to ensure complianceDemonstrate awareness of local permit policies, etc. and deploy them to the Chemical teamBe an active participant in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems immediately to the appropriate individual (ERT, Supervision, etc.)
