Job Description Insight Global is looking for a Design Manager to join a large environmental engineering firm in Costa Mesa. This role is highly technical and hands-on overseeing projects, managing teams, and interacting effectively with clients and stakeholders. Key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to: Plan, schedule, and conduct engineering work on complex projects, ensuring all aspects meet budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards. Oversee multiple projects concurrently, making authoritative decisions and recommendations that significantly impact the companys engineering activities. Supervise a team of project managers and senior project engineers, coordinating multiple engineering disciplines. Lead and oversee all areas of the project, focusing on the production of wastewater treatment plant designs. This includes directing area leads and ensuring hands-on involvement in technical aspects. Engage in detailed design work, driving the process while other engineers support. This includes managing overall project constraints and ensuring high-quality technical output. Coordinate with civil, environmental, process, and mechanical engineers to integrate various aspects of the design. Maintain extensive contacts with key engineers and officials from other organizations, negotiating critical and controversial issues. Develop and maintain significant relationships with client management personnel, preparing proposals, conducting interviews, and negotiating contracts. Participate in professional associations, present technical papers, and serve on technical committees. Identify the need for new employees, participate in the recruitment process, and direct subconsultants performing services on projects. Skills and Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering - 9-12+ years of wastewater design experience in the field of environmental consulting engineering with an emphasis in hydraulics, physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes and treatment plant design - Registration as a Professional Engineer - Experience with managing and designing medium sized projects with full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards - Familiar with a broad range of issues related to water systems, including master planning, collection and pumping, with an emphasis on water treatment plant design - Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD - Master's degree in Environmental Engineering null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
