Role Description:
Arcadis is seeking a Design Oversight Manager to join our team for a significant rail tunnel project in the New York/New Jersey area. In this role, you will provide leadership and direction to the design team, guiding them through all phases of the design process from concept development to detailed design and construction.
Role Accountabilities:
Collaborate with project stakeholders, including engineers, architects, contractors, and clients, to translate project requirements into creative and feasible design solutions. Oversee the development of design concepts, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to meet project objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Conduct design reviews, value engineering assessments, and risk analyses to optimize design performance, minimize costs, and enhance constructability. Ensure design quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications through thorough technical checks and coordination with relevant disciplines. Manage design changes, scope modifications, and design-related issues, proactively identifying and addressing potential impacts on project schedule, cost, and quality. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the design team, promoting creativity, excellence, and sustainability in tunnel design.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Tunnel Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification. Minimum of 12 years of experience in tunnel design and construction, with a focus on underground structures and geotechnical engineering.Key Skills and Abilities:
Proven track record of successfully managing complex design projects from inception to completion, preferably in tunneling or infrastructure projects. Strong technical expertise in tunnel design software, structural analysis tools, and BIM technologies. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Why Arcadis?

These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $245,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
