Design Release Engineer
Job Title: Release Engineer - Intermediate
Job Description

The HVAC Release Engineer is responsible for the development and validation of the automotive HVAC compressor and A/C lines. The candidate will ensure that the components meet performance objectives and coordinate development with other functional areas such as powertrain, BIW, Aero/Thermal, Engine Cooling, and suppliers.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and validate automotive HVAC compressor and A/C lines.Ensure components meet performance objectives.Coordinate development with powertrain, BIW, Aero/Thermal, Engine Cooling, and suppliers.Write source packages, specifications, requirements, and change notices.Manage suppliers to meet program timing and deliverables.Maintain a component and sub-system DVP&R.Support and keep up to date with component bench testing, simulation, drive-cell and static cell test results.Perform data analysis and establish proper corrective actions as required.Lead virtual team to design and perform CFD and FEA analysis for components to meet performance.Support pilot and pre-production build processes at the assembly plant for development and installation of AC lines and compressors.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science (Engineering) in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET accredited university.3-5 years of experience in HVAC compressors and/or A/C line design/development.Very good knowledge of Unigraphics NX and CATIA.Strong PC and MS Office skills.Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.Interpersonal skills.Self-starter and motivated to produce results.Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).Basic thermodynamics knowledge.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in e-compressors, chillers, and EV components.Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).Automotive assembly plant experience.HVAC system engineering knowledge.Previous experience as an AC line design and release engineer.Work Environment

Onsite work at CTC is required anywhere from 3-5 times per week. Driving a Stellantis vehicle is required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.97 - $42.97/hr.
