Design Release Engineer

Description:

We are seeking an Exhaust Systems Design Release Engineer to design, develop, and release exhaust systems for various vehicle lines, accommodating all powertrain combinations and brand differentiation requirements. The role involves meeting system and component functional objectives for flow characteristics, durability, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), and back pressure, while also achieving cost, weight, and investment targets. Key responsibilities include:

Developing system DVP&R, DFMEA, and function modelsIncorporating Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) best practices to meet system performance specificationsCreating drawings and system validationCollaborating with suppliers, manufacturing, purchasing, and cross-functional engineering teams

Skills & Qualifications:

Must Have:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field3+ years of engineering experienceExperience in automotive product development, specifically in exhaust systems design and developmentProficiency in CAD

Preferred:

Master’s degree in EngineeringExperience in exhaust system design and developmentGreen/Black Belt certification in Shainin or DFSSKnowledge of company systems and productsSkills in NX CAD and/or TeamcenterAbility to read and apply GD&T to drawingsExperience in the design, release, and development of automotive components through the launch phaseUnderstanding of exhaust systems and NVHFamiliarity with advanced quality tools such as DFSS, DFMEA, DVPR, and function modelsExperience with vehicle assembly processesPrior BAJA/Formula SAE experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $39.00/hr.
