Design Release Engineer - Intermediate - JP4323
Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cold End Exhaust Design and Release Engineer. This position entails the design, development, timing, and production release of a vehicle line Exhaust System and/or underbody heat shields. Additionally, the role involves quality improvements, value optimization, weight reduction, and other efficiency improvement initiatives. The Design Release Engineer will communicate technical product status to management and work closely with suppliers, internal teams, testing and prototype labs, CAE engineers, the vehicle program team, supplier operations, and manufacturing plants.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and release vehicle line Exhaust Systems and underbody heat shields.Implement quality improvements, value optimization, and weight reduction initiatives.Communicate technical product status to management.Collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and various engineering departments.Coordinate with testing and prototype labs, CAE engineers, and manufacturing plants.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Proficiency in English (writing, listening, and speaking).Degree from an ABET-accredited university or equivalent; BSME preferred.3+ years of design/development automotive engineering experience in chassis or powertrain systems and components (internships considered).Program management and product release experience.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Demonstrated problem-solving ability.Additional Skills & QualificationsExtensive automotive experience.Product engineering experience.Prototype experience.Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green Belt certification.Solid understanding of system/component design.General understanding of NX, Teamcenter, and CoDeP.Experience with Formula SAE, Baja, or similar college projects.Proficiency with Siemens & Adobe products (Vis Mockup, Teamcenter, PDFs).Experience with Microsoft or Google Office Products.Work Environment

This position is onsite at CTC, requiring attendance anywhere from 3-5 days per week. The role involves driving a company vehicle and requires domestic and international travel up to 20% of the time.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.97 - $42.97/hr.
