Responsible for managing a team of patternmakers sample cutter / raters sewing machinists and garment technologists Dealing and resolving all technical aspects relating to garments and critical path lead time
Responsibilities
Ensure budgeted outputs are achieved
Ability to put Corrective Action Plans in place and/or revise processes if the above are not achieved
Owning the sealing process and ensure that internal processes and quality standards are aligned with the Quality Division
Align with the Production and Merchandise department to ensure that garments are costed and made in the most production friendly way
Ensure a Block Library is created and maintained
Responsible that all technical information required for garment production is correct and resolving any issues that may arise
Responsible for systems and procedures to be implemented as well as training and support to all staff
Work closely with the Merchandise Team to plan the flow through the department and ensure CPM dates are met
Experience/ Requirements
Matric / Grade 12
Diploma in Garment Production and/or Design would be advantageous
Good Excel skills to generate reports
Minimum 5 to 8 years management experience in a similar role
Strong pattern and garment construction knowledge
Good understanding of garment manufacturing processes as well as garment finishing processes
Good knowledge of Fabric Construction and enduse suitability
Knowledge of Gerber / Lectra Patternmaking and Grading would be advantageous
Understanding of Body Measurement charts and how to apply when Grading
