We’ve got what you’re looking for. **Job Description:** We have transformed over 100,000 roads and highways all over the world and have been a leader in both conventional and Integrated design and delivery of civil infrastructure for 80 years. We are looking for an experienced Designer, with experience on civil projects, to add to our team in either of our Washington DC or Centreville Virginia offices, to support projects in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland and other states as needed. Our team has supported VDOT, DDOT, and MDOT clients, as well as municipal and private clients for both conventional and design/build projects. We have designed and constructed major interstates, HOV lanes, complex interchanges and marquee bridges in the region. In this role, you will develop complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge, that they meet company and industry standards and codes. **Responsibilities:** Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare difficult and complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge. Interprets and ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures. Understands and utilizes more advanced software to complete assignments. Works closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems. Meets layout requirements and develops alternate design layouts of systems as required. Ensures compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications. Reviews supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as required. Checks orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others. Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor. Assists in training lower-level Designers in various procedures. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. **Qualifications:** 2-year technical degree (Associates Degree) or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent) is preferred 6+ years of relevant CAD design experience Must have experience with road/highway or Rail/Transit civil designs **Skills/Competencies:** Requirements include strong PC, SharePoint, ProjectWise, and MicroStation, AutoCAD skills, as well as utilizing computer aided software (InRoads/Geopak) to complete design assignments and design plans production. **Minimum Clearance Required to Start:** Not Applicable/None This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
