Job Description

The Civil Designer supports all areas of civil design from concept development through final construction documents. Civil design work includes site development (parking lots, roadway, utilities, storm/sewer, grading plans, etc.) as well as highway, infrastructure, and Department of Transportation projects. This person will collaborate with architects and the MEP group to successfully complete projects. Some training will be provided, but the ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and be able to hit the ground running.

ResponsibilitiesSupport design and production on civil engineering projectsPrepare documents in conformance with company standards and quality control requirementsDesign, engineer, and detail a broad range of project typesDemonstrate experience with both public and private projectsWork within budgets and meet schedules and client expectationsServe the external client by serving the internal clientWork closely with all company disciplinesCoordinate work with architects, engineers, designers, and technical personnelParticipate in internal and external design charrettes and presentationsBecome involved in the local engineering communitySeek guidance and mentorship from experienced staff and the Director of Civil EngineeringEssential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D3+ years experience within site civil design - grading, parking lots, storm/sewer, roadway, underground utilities, etc.At minimum, an Associate's degree within civil engineering, CAD, or related fieldAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringEIT or ability to get licensedProficiency in MicroStationExperience performing site and roadway material take-offs and cost estimatingExperience in writing technical summaries, comment dispositions, and charrette reportsRecruiter: Eisen Hardy - 614/551/9192 - 'ehardy@actalentservices.com'Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00
