Desk Assistant, Housing & Residence Life Apply now (https://secure.dc4.pageuppeople.com/apply/674/gateway/default.aspx?c=apply&lJobID=534867&lJobSourceTypeID=796&sLanguage=en-us) Job no: 534867 Work type: Student Ast Location: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL) Categories: Student Services Department: 07700100 - HO-HOUSING OFFICE Classification Title: STU AST - CLERICAL & ADMIN Job Description: The Desk Assistant within the Housing Operations team for Housing and Residence Life is responsible for: + Serve as the first point of contact for current or prospective residents, families, and community members providing information on campus resources and resolving questions or concerns + Responsible for answering incoming phone calls and emails, assisting walk-in traffic to the residential office + Log and deliver all packages and special mail sent to residents + Assist guests with inquiries regarding different residential facilities, university locations or services + Maintain and update area desk records and materials  + Provide temporary residential and mailbox keys for residents + Maintain effective communication with other Housing & Residence Life team members to ensure timely delivery of services. + Create a welcoming environment for all students, families, and visitors through positive interactions and engagement Advertised Salary: $13.00 per hour Minimum Requirements: + This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
