Description
We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician for an opening in Cambridge, MA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for solving a wide variety of technical problems, providing exceptional customer service, and working collaboratively with other IT professionals. This role involves hands-on and remote Desktop support, hardware and software deployments, and managing printing issues.
Responsibilities:
+ Collaborate with the Service Desk, PC Technicians, and Senior Technicians to address PC support needs.
+ Resolve escalated calls from the Call Tracking system.
+ Assume primary responsibility for client PC support, including primary and lab computers.
+ Provide hands-on and remote PC support services.
+ Offer expertise on support services when requested by peers and clients.
+ Load base images on PCs.
+ Lead and participate in hardware and software deployments.
+ Adhere to hardware and software procurement usage guidelines.
+ Manage printing issues for both local and network printers.
+ Ensure completion of incidents and tasks, maintaining proper communication with clients.
+ Reconcile client demand for services with available resources.
+ Record all support activities for accurate measurement of work performed.
Competencies:
+ Enjoy solving a wide variety of problems on a continual basis.
+ Experience with technology in a business environment, including hands-on support, lab instrument support, data networks, and application environments.
+ Customer service experience in PC support.
+ Exceptional organizational skills.
+ Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
+ Ability to ascertain the criticality of incoming requests.
+ Fundamental understanding of Outlook and Office applications.
+ Ability to translate technical terms into non-technical language.
+ Understanding of computer terms and acronyms.
+ Ability to follow departmental processes and procedures.
+ Proficiency in documenting resolutions using knowledge management tools.
+ Troubleshooting experience, referencing knowledge articles, and collaborating with team members and other IT staff.
+ Experience meeting and communicating with vendors to resolve issues and install hardware/software.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
