Astreya Partners is looking for an IT Support Tech to work on our team onsite with a global search engine firm. This is a tier 2 support role and we are looking for someone with great customer service skills, attention to detail, and a passion for technology and troubleshooting. Responsibilities:
Support users on all issues related to internal custom built application tools Support users on issues relating to Linux workstations and network connectivity Troubleshoot some Windows 7, Apple OS and Linux OS Reimage and deploy workstations for pre-existing and new users Build and maintain relationships with counterparts on other sites such as Telops, Techstop, Development, Local Management, Printing, Mentors and Tool POCs to aid with a unified approach to global issue diagnostics and resolution. Initial level of debugging and resolution (e.g. restarting edit server, interpreting latency graphs, identifying local vs global issues etc) Testing various releases of application tools, becoming familiar with current issues and ability to identify various Java bugs. Monitor development mailing lists with respect to identifying new/resolved bugs and to be aware of developments that affect the site and to provide ideas, solutions and processes to minimize local disruption. Bug and feature request filing and working with dev team for their resolution Maintaining record of team specific inventory ( workstations, monitors) Small tool development ( specific to app and which can help improving ops efficiency) - Bash, Perl, Python etc Maintaining or modifying existing tools to facilitate developments or changes in dependent systems. Development of processes and KBs for common issue resolution Ability to mentor less technical colleagues on common tasksQualifications & Requirements:
Computer Science Degree or equivalent Hands on experience with inventory management or logistics Customer Relationship experience Basic Knowledge of networking Good communication skills both written and verbal Knowledge and experience working with spreadsheets such as Google Sheets Organizational skills Familiarity with IT Service Management principles including ticket management and achieving service levels Basic IT infrastructure troubleshooting experienceWhat can Astreya offer you?
