Desktop System Administrator (Multiple Levels)
**Responsibilities** **Noblis ESI is seeking a Desktop System Administrator with a background in managing and maintaining desktop computing environments to work with our client on-site in Chantilly, VA.** Professionals in systems administration are responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, servers, and networks to ensure they operate efficiently, securely, and reliably. They utilize their expertise in system administration tools, technologies, and best practices to support the organization's IT infrastructure and meet business requirements. Typical responsibilities include installing and configuring operating systems, software applications, and system updates, monitoring system performance and security, and troubleshooting issues to identify and resolve technical problems and minimize downtime. Systems administration roles also involve managing user accounts and permissions, implementing security policies and access controls, and conducting regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to protect data and ensure business continuity. Additionally, professionals may evaluate new technologies and solutions, plan and execute system upgrades and migrations, and provide technical support and training to end-users and other IT staff. Their expertise in areas such as server administration, network administration, virtualization, and cloud computing enable organizations to maintain stable and secure IT environments that support business operations and growth. **Job Responsibilities** + Install, configure, andmaintaindesktop systems, laptops, and peripheral devices. + Provide technical support and troubleshootingassistanceto end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues. + Monitor system performance and security, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and best practices. + Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in Active Directory. + Deploy software updates, patches, and security fixes to desktop systems. + Conduct regular system backups and data recovery operations. + Maintain and update asset inventory records for hardware and software. + Collaborate with IT team members to implement and supportnew technologiesand projects. + Develop andmaintaindocumentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. + Assistwith network and server administration tasks as needed. + Stay current with trends, technologies, and best practices in desktop system administration. **Required Qualifications** + Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph. + Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Alternatively,demonstrateanadditional4 years of related acquisition experience per level if no bachelor's degree is held. + Experience as a desktop system administrator or in a similar IT support role. + Knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems. **Junior-Level** + Bachelor's degree + 0 - 5 years of experience + Background / knowledge in systems administration + Compensation: $73,200 - $125,800 **Mid-Level** + Bachelor's degree + 5 - 10 years of experience + Background / knowledge in systems administration + Compensation: $97,400 - $152,225 **Desired Qualifications** + Master’s Degree + Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). + Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation. + Familiarity with endpoint management and security tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune). + Certification in relevant IT fields (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate). + Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. + Familiarity with network protocols and troubleshooting techniques. + Effective communication and interpersonal skills. + Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. + Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and other domain management tools. **Overview** Noblis (http://www.noblis.org/) and our wholly owned subsidiaries, Noblis ESI , and Noblis MSD tackle the nation's toughest problems and apply advanced solutions to our clients' most critical missions. Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked.
