Job Title: Detailer
Job Description

We are seeking a Detailer to join our dynamic team that fabricates structural steel joist and deck building systems. The Detailer will be responsible for converting customer drawings into simple AutoCAD 2D drawings, creating manufacturing plans, and ensuring timely delivery to clients. This role offers a blend of design and coordination tasks, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a varied and engaging work environment. Our Fort Wayne office supports production across six manufacturing plants in the US and Mexico, providing ample opportunity for career growth.

ResponsibilitiesConvert customer drawings to AutoCAD 2D detail drawings.Create manufacturing plans based on converted drawings.Coordinate internally and with customers to resolve issues and ensure timely project delivery.Work on 5-6 projects at different stages of completion simultaneously.Learn and utilize a proprietary AutoCAD 2D add-in.Collaborate with a team of detailers and a Team Lead, with the potential to move into a 'checker' role.Essential SkillsExperience with structural detailing, structural design, and structural analysis.Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural steel detailing.Knowledge of structural loads, connections, and drawings.Strong mathematics and analytical skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with joists and/or decking design or any structural design experience.Experience in design to production, including CAD drawings and producing material lists or production orders.Any 3D experience related to structural steel detailing is a plus.Strong ability to multi-task and stay organized.Flexible mindset and able to adjust to day-to-day tasks immediately.Goal-oriented and deadline-driven.Capable of giving and receiving feedback.Able to adapt to the company's culture and attitude.Work Environment

The work environment is casual but deadline-driven. Each person will have their own cubicle in an open-concept office located in the newly renovated Electric Works building in downtown Fort Wayne.
