Essential functions:
Search for contraband and provide security. Count, feed and supervise non-citizens in housing, work, and other areas. Provide custody and security of non-citizens including observation of non-citizens. Perform security of various assigned areas. Perform specific security functions including ‘pat’ and ‘strip’ searches, by squatting and bending to perform such functions. Also required to climb ladders or stairs in search of contraband. Transfer and transport non-citizens by walking or riding in vehicles. Restrain and secure assaultive non-citizens, as needed. Must be able to work rotating shifts and all posts assignments. Maintain the secure custody and security of non-citizens including observation of non-citizens, which includes long periods of standing and sitting. Required to make periodic rounds of assigned area which may include long periods of walking and standing.Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED. Must be at least 18 years of age. Prior correctional experience is preferred but not required. A valid driver license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
