The Lead Developer Role

 

Join Qlik's major team at the forefront of developing industry-leading Data Integration products as a Lead Developer.

 

Your foundational contributions will empower global R&D teams to deliver highly scalable, efficient, observable, and resilient micro-services, supporting mission-critical Data and Analytics use cases for thousands of high-profile customers worldwide.

 

You will also have the opportunity to contribute the long-running job designer, leveraged especially by large companies to manage their critical real-time processes.

Global Impact: Your role will be at the heart of the team as a leader of a highly skilled Java developer team (5-6p). Your role will also go outside as well to represent the team and highlight our technical projects. Application & API integration products: Take part to the development of our main real-time integration products, providing reliability, efficiency and growth to our thousands of high-profile customers worldwide.Technical Leadership: provide daily technical guidance to a small global team, ensuring that development is progressing efficiently, considering “Clean code” guidelines as a reference.Operational Excellence: Help craft micro-services that are easily managed in production, empowered with insightful metrics and intuitive dashboards.Quality: Move fast without compromising on quality, delivering high-caliber code with precision.Collaborative Environment: Work closely with product and engineering teams to define requirements, features, and functionalities, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages feedback and continuous improvement.

 

Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:

 

Improving efficiency: Delivering our products on time whilst keeping the quality bar highIntegration Development: Design, develop, and maintain application and API integration products using mainly Java across various platforms (microservice, Eclipse RCP).Tooling Development: Be the main actor to improve and maintain our Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) tools using mainly Jenkins. Collaborative Development: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define requirements and features, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.Code Quality and Documentation: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in required languages, ensure well-documented designs, and implement automated tests for reliability and performance.Continuous Improvement: Gather feedback from internal and external developers to improve our tools continually, staying updated with new technologies and industry best practices.Community Engagement: Actively engaged in sharing our practices, organizing events, webinars, and forums to promote engagement and collaboration.

 

We’re looking for a teammate with:

 

Experience leading a Java-oriented developer team, including daily guidance as well as long-term HR management.Proficiency in Java on a Cloud/microservice environment and/or on an on-premise contextProficiency with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes, Jenkins (shared libs), Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud SaaS environments.Experience with Git or other version control systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.Experience with Apache Camel (or other message-oriented middleware framework), Eclipse RCP is a plus.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, especially for technical documentation.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.Preferred: Knowledge of software development best practices, design patterns, and building high availability systems.
