Developing cloud-first platforms that provide capabilities and services. Building, securing, and operating a blend of internally developed and 3rd party software for Hallmark core processes. WHAT YOUR ROLE ENTAILS AND HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE 

As a Dev Ops Engineering Manager, you will direct and lead an integrated DevOps team which owns all aspects of the customer facing/production infrastructure as well as development, quality assurance, and staging environments working within a cloud ecosystem. In this role, you will lead the transformation of our DevOps practices to modernize and optimize the cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, define, and execute standardizing cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and other automation solutions, and work towards cost optimizations, in an agile environment. You will be responsible for the management of people, processes, technologies, budgets, and client relationships, building and mentoring a high-performing DevOps engineering team, and driving a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Key partners include internal IT partners, business partners, and external technology and resource providers. In addition to that listed above, this also includes authentication, change management, access control, monitoring/alerting, vulnerability management, mentorship/leadership, and supporting the business in a scalable manner.

 

Day-to-day accountabilities include:

Managing an integrated DevOps team, providing guidance and leadership to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of software products while developing and maintaining a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and agile development. Directing the activities of a DevOps function responsible for building and maintaining the tooling and infrastructure used to automate the release, deployment and management of infrastructure and applications in cloud environments using infrastructure-as-code. Taking ownership of the complete software development lifecycle; defining, prioritizing, designing, and leading implementation and testing of new features within an agile environment. Combining software development and IT operations practices which shorten the systems delivery life cycle and provide a continuous delivery platform delivered in a scalable manner. Working with security teams to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards and implement security best practices in the software development lifecycle.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

At least 5 years of experience in software development, IT operations, or DevOps At least 2 years of experience leading and managing a team Experience with cloud computing principles and AWS services

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Certifications in relevant areas such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or similar. Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills. Demonstrated track record of successfully implementing DevOps practices and driving organizational change. Knowledge of cost optimization strategies and tools in cloud environments. 3+ years’ experience managing a Cloud, Internet development or DevOps team. Experience in managing a complete set of activities related to the projects' delivery in a company such as SOW negotiations, project initiation, client management, project execution, and delivery. Familiar with Agile processes and DevOps manifesto. Knowledge of SDLC processes (Agile, DevOps), service delivery processes (ITIL) with hands-on ability to implement best practices and suggest improvements. Experience with enterprise IT infrastructure or operations. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks.

 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The salary range for this job is between $130,000 and $160,000. Salary will take into consideration several factors including location.
