How you will contribute

Working independently, you will lead technical work across multiple projects aligned with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks. You will also lead activities designed to generate appropriate process & product information using modelling and simulation, and pilot plant scale up and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. You will be involved with/lead process & product design and specifications, process scale-up and commissioning and will ensure the effective use of resources, including the use of external agencies.

This position requires you to manage stakeholders and to influence decisions based on data analysis and interpretation of results; create and maintain accurate consumer centric process specifications; leverage connections to internal and external technical communities and create intellectual property that gives Mondelēz International a competitive advantage.

The Candidate will be responsible for leading or supporting designing, planning and execution of experiments for scale-up trials, with some Pilot Plant support as appropriate. They must also develop and manage project plans and timelines, ensuring that projects are delivered on time. Candidates should possess strong technical and project management skills, and effective communication skills.

The Candidate must be able to assess testing plans, gather and analyze data, and make recommendations based on findings. While the candidate will be a member of a team, they will need to be able to lead their assigned projects and collaborate with cross functional team members. 

The Candidate must possess some experience in ingredient functionality, formulation, and commercialization. The individual must be able to write detailed process specifications and project reports, and able to support Quality and Manufacturing needs as it relates to their projects.

Education / Certifications:

BS or MS in chemical engineering, food engineering, food science or similar discipline

Job specific requirements:

BS or MS in chemical engineering, food engineering, food science or similar disciplineMinimum of 4-6 years of process development or manufacturing experience is required, preferably in the food industry.  Strong technical foundation and technical curiosity. Ability to develop, plan for, and carry out plant trials. Able to develop and drive technical projects with proper scientific rigor: conduct appropriate testing, gather, and analyze data, and develop recommendations based on findings. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and manage complexity- from bench top to commercialization. Participate in cross functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues. Write process specifications that deliver consistent, high-quality products across numerous manufacturing facilities. Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization. 

Travel requirements:

Travel up to 30% to locations in US, Canada, Mexico and Turkey

Work schedule:

Role is based out of East Hanover, New Jersey office

The base salary range for this position is $83,800 to $115,225; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
