Direct responsibility for the design, maintenance, and support of Data Warehouse Systems. The developer requires a high level of analytical and creative skills and an in-depth knowledge of database structure, data warehouse configuration, methodology, design, and modeling. The developers typical duties includes but not limited to designing and building data warehouses, designing ETL architectures and procedures, performing analysis, SQL scripting, tuning and optimization on very large (multi-terabyte) databases, managing capacity planning and performance analysis, working with application developers to design and develop database objects and structures according to project specifications, addressing data quality issues with users, vendors and management, analyzing organizational data requirements and creating logical and physical Data Flow Diagrams and Entity Relationship Diagrams using tools such as Visio and Erwin. Must be able to work with and within a cross-functional development, QA and production team. Required: Effectively develops complex Teradata SQL coding (use of temp/volatile tables, complex joins, etc.) Effectively performs - ETL on large data volumes while addressing out of spool conditions, query optimization, etc.) , requirements analysis, data profiling, data/information research, data/information analyses, data cleansing including identification of data anomalies, post load data/load quality checks Experienced with dimensional database concepts, relational database concepts, data integration initiatives, data movement initiatives Possesses strong analytical thinking skills Effectively creates clear and concise documentation, produces source to target maps, understands and validates metrics Effectively determines project scope and priorities, plans and coordinates tasks across multiple teams, determines, manages, and escalates risk, multi-tasks (i.e., works on multiple tasks/same project and/or multiple projects), works in a team environment, communicates and liaisons with non-technical personnel (e.g., customers, stakeholders, etc.) and technical personnel (e.g., data modelers, developers, DBAs, etc.)
