Development and Marketing Assistant
SERV, a well-established leader in behavioral healthcare in New Jersey, supports people with mental illness and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities as they achieve greater independence and life satisfaction through a wide range of services. JOB SUMMARY: As a key member of the team, the Development and Marketing Assistant plays a crucial role in providing support to the Senior Vice President of Development and Marketing and the SERV Development and Marketing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who wants to develop communications, marketing, and fundraising skills within a successful non-profit organization. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Administrative Support: Maintains accurate donor/prospect records and giving histories in Bloomerang, SERV's CRM, and generates reports as needed. Processes and acknowledges all donations, invoices, and monthly credit card statements. Maintains an organized inventory of office supplies, marketing materials, business cards, and items for events and awards. Coordinates holiday gifts for staff and individuals receiving services. + Communications: Collaborates with the SVP on SERV’s internal and external publications, such as newsletters, social media, and marketing materials, including brochures and digital content. + Events: Assists in planning and implementing internal and external events, including community outreach programs and staff and volunteer appreciation events. Mobilizes volunteers, provides support at events, and maintains revenue outcomes. + Fundraising: Assists with direct mail appeals and other mailings + Additional duties as assigned or needed to meet departmental or organizational goals. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree in English, communications, or marketing is a plus, as is a minimum of three years of related experience. + Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external constituents. + A flexible, adaptable, and detail-oriented self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can multitask, and demonstrates initiative and independence in their work. + Organized and with excellent time-management and problem-solving skills. + Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience with donor database management or other CRMs is strongly preferred. Graphic design experience using Canva is a plus. + Ability to lift 20 pounds. + Flexibility to work evenings and weekends and conduct local travel. + Valid driver's license in state of residence with safe driving record. #INDPR1 EEO STATEMENT We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
