SEGULA TECHNOLOGIES is assisting a major automotive OEM in hiring a Development and validation Engineer – Transmissions & Driveline to join our growing team in Windsor, ON.
This position requires frequent travel to the USA; candidates must hold Canadian citizenship or have the ability to work in the USA.
Job DescriptionResponsible for designing, developing, and validating components and systems in Transmission, Driveline & Gear Reducer.Collaborate closely with Propulsion System and Vehicle engineering groups including transmission, driveline, and gear reducer Product Release Center, Controls, Calibration, Thermal Management, Engine & E-Motor engineering organizationsDevelop system level DFMEA and define System RequirementsExecute DVPR and Test Management to achieve functional objectives and durability goalsParticipate in post-test reviews, including failure analysisSupport assembly plant activities for smooth product launchesLead triage investigations to identify root causes of development problemsEnsure robustness of function, performance, efficiency, and driveability of the productSupport field warranty and quality investigationsLead root cause analysis effortsContribute to the identification and validation of optimal solutionsQualificationsB.S. Mechanical, Aero, Electrical or equivalent Engineering Degree (a Master’s degree in Engineering and/or have experience in transmission and/or driveline design, development, and testing will be highly appreciated).At least 3-5 years of engineering experience in Automatic Transmission/Driveline/Electrified Powertrain hardware, calibration or controls development.Must have excellent communication and presentation skills as well as experience with basic PC software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).Candidate must be highly motivated, self-directed, have the ability to manage multiple complex projects, and have a positive attitude.Specific experience with software, calibration, efficiency and/or thermal management is desired.An understanding of transmission & driveline operation and the interaction between gears, clutches, and electrohydraulic components is desired.Experience with transmission & driveline testing procedures, in vehicle or on dynamometer, and other related considerations are also highly valued.Additional InformationReminder: This position requires frequent travel to the USA; candidates must hold Canadian citizenship or have the ability to work in the USA (B1/B2 Visas are not accepted).
