Development Assistant
Description We are working with a prestigious non-profit organization located in the Oakland area that is looking to bring on a Development Assistant! + Support the Development Manager/Director with administrative and coordination tasks for fundraising activities. + Maintain and update donor databases and records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. + Assist with the preparation of donor communications, including acknowledgment letters, newsletters, and marketing materials. + Plan, coordinate, and provide on-site/virtual support for fundraising events and campaigns. + Track donations, generate financial reports, and collaborate with the finance team for reconciliation. + Conduct prospect research on potential donors, foundations, and corporate partnerships. + Collaborate with team members and volunteers to meet campaign goals. + Organize mailings, reports, and other development-related materials. + Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, communications, or a related field. + 1-2 years of experience in fundraising/development, administration, or a similar role. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with donor databases, CRM software, or fundraising platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang, DonorPerfect). + Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience in planning or supporting fundraising events. + Knowledge of grant-writing or corporate sponsorship. + Familiarity with donor stewardship and nonprofit fundraising best practices.
