Development Associate II - Full time When a group of families came together in 1957 to find services for their children with developmental disabilities, ACLD was born. Primary Purpose The Development Associate will play a key role in the department by handling a dual role of administering the Community Trusts and supporting the Development Department, including data entry and clerical, at all Foundation events and as a backup Requirements + High School Diploma or Equivalent required + Minimum of 2 years in development office, accounting, or related field in a non-profit required + Must be organized, detail-oriented and diligent in processes and procedures + Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Additional Knowledge, Skills and Ability + Possess high level of competency in multi-tasking, problem solving and prioritizing. Must be able to effectively time manage and have excellent organizational skills. + Demonstrate good customer service and patience with donors, families, and staff. + Honest and trustworthy. + Excellent writing and listening skills. Essential Functions Manage a portfolio of first-party and third-party pooled trust accounts of the ACLD Community Trust Program. + Communicate and collaborate closely with Trust beneficiaries, Trustees, family members, and other parties (Entitlements, Finance, Residential, Legal) throughout all the different aspects and stages of the Trust, always ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. + Establishing Trust accounts for people supported. + Manage contributions and discretionary distributions of individual accounts. + Record-keeping of distributions of individual accounts. + Coordination of Community Trust Trustee meetings and mailings. + Prepare and mail all acknowledgement and pledge letters for the department + Maintains and updates all Development files + Scan all checks, complete tallies for Finance + Perform clerical duties, including typing, data entry, preparation of materials for presentations, telephone coverage, copying, filing, scanning, mailings, etc. + Schedule/confirm meetings/appointments and reserve meeting rooms. + Other duties as assigned by the Director, central to being in a supportive role in the department. Non-Essential Functions + Attend training sessions as required and assigned. + Participate in agency committees as assigned. + Must be flexible with evening and weekend hours to meet the needs of the Agency’s fundraising activities.
