Salary:             $50,000 - $55,000

Job Description:

The Development Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the fundraising and development efforts of SCO Family of Services. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Development, Individual and Corporate Giving, the Development Coordinator will assist in planning and implementing strategies to secure funding from individual donors, corporate sponsors, and special events. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate the mission and programs of the organization to donors and stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the development and execution of fundraising campaigns and initiatives to meet annual fundraising goals. Coordinate donor stewardship activities, including updates and communications to maintain and enhance donor relationships. Research prospective donors and funding opportunities. Ensure accurate and timely entry of donor information. Plan and coordinate fundraising events and activities, including logistics, volunteer management, and donor engagement. Collaborate with program staff to gather information and impact stories for donor communications and funding proposals. Assist in the creation of fundraising materials for social media, newsletters, annual reports, and donor appeals. Monitor and report on progress towards fundraising goals, prepare regular reports for management and board meetings. Develop and manage a communications and activities calendar, ensuring team adherence and coordination with the Communications team to avoid conflicts. Stay informed about best practices in fundraising and donor relations to enhance fundraising strategies and donor engagement efforts. Support other development activities and special projects as assigned. Manage data entry and reporting requirements in Raiser’s Edge/NXT constituent database.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Communications, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience (2-3 years) in fundraising, donor relations, or related field, preferably within a non-profit organization. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate the mission and impact of the organization to donors and stakeholders. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Proficiency in donor management software, Raiser’s Edge NXT and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Knowledge of Zoom preferred. Experience with online project management platforms, such as Asana, preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
