Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC)Foundationin Bennington, Vermont seeks a director of development to help further advance donor relations, annual andcapitalfundraising campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, vibrant, results-focused, and team-oriented professional who is well versed in cultivating and maintaining relationships with many constituent groups. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build affinity and donor engagement, and lead a team of gift officers to meet and exceed ambitious fundraising goals. Minimum Requirements * Bachelor’s degree * Five years of progressively responsible development and fundraising experience * Proven goals-meeting track record within capital and annual campaigns * Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge Fundraising system * Valid driver’s license Core Responsibilities The Director of Development is part of a dynamic and responsive team of ten colleagues who work cooperatively on all aspects of Corporate Development. Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Development, the Director of Development guidesthe SVHC Foundationin a robust calendar of mission-driven fundraising activities.Responsibilities include: * Manage Foundation staff of two senior gift officers, financial operations manager * Coordinate annual giving programs and the development and implementation of new donor programs * Assist in development of Capital Campaign strategy and implementation with VP of Corporate Development * Develop cultivation, solicitation, and acknowledgement strategies for targeted prospects, donors, funding, and community organizations * Meet personal fundraising goals * Develop and implement marketing strategies for annual, capital and planned gifts * Lead in the development and execution of Foundation events * Manage and engage Foundation Board, Regional Advisory Boards and other high-level volunteers to increase participation, giving, and awareness, as needed * Knowledge Raiser’s Edge fundraising system required Details This opportunity is full time and in person. Hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday. Some evenings and weekends are required for board meetings and other functions, such as major events.
