Development Engineer
Description: Day to Day Responsibilities: • Makes samples for development studies, design verification, and regulatory submission studies. This includes running processes such as, but not limited to, barbing, ultrasonic welding, braiding, annealing, and scouring • Sample characterization including geometric measurements, visual inspection and mechanical property testing. • Concept development that may include CAD/SolidWorks drawing and making prototypes - 3D modeling • Executes test plans and protocols for development studies • Follows GDP requirements in documenting all experimental work. • Completes all ComplianceWire and Summit safety training as required. • Will be working with a core group of 5-8 people in the barbing lab learning the ropes in the early going. • Then working as one of the major contributors making recommendations on the direction they take their studies. Additional Skills & Qualifications: + Prefers BS in Mechanical Engineering or adjacent - needs heavy mechanical focus; concerned about Biomedical Engineering being too general. + 2-5 years is fine with regards to years of experience Experience Level: Intermediate Level About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
