Your Role:

We are currently seeking a Development Engineer for a role within the Single Use and Integrated Systems R&D group at MilliporeSigma Process Solutions business unit.  In this position, the individual will be responsible for developing novel products used in the processing and purification of pharmaceutical and biotech product streams. This position will be based at our Bedford, MA campus.

 

In this dynamic environment, the candidate will be a key member of product development teams.

Responsibilities:

Development and validation of single use products using current and new manufacturing processes, which includes knowledge transfer to the manufacturing organization resulting in a successful commercial launchInnovative Product designDesign for Manufacturing and assemblyDevelopment of manufacturing process for thermoplastic componentsMaintaining up to date skills in CAD and SolidWorksPlanning and executing DOE in conjunction with supporting data analysis and statistical softwareWriting technical reports and validation documentation for manufacturing processesMeeting project goals and deadlines while achieving cost targetsInterfacing effectively with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Product Management functionSound decision making

 

This position may include minimal travel

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Plastics, Chemical Engineering or other Engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience in design and development

-OR-

Master’s degree in in Mechanical, Plastics, Chemical Engineering or other Engineering discipline with 3+ years of experience in design and development

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of thermoplastics; specifically, injection molding, extrusion, heat bonding and ultrasonic bondingProficiency with CAD software packages / techniques for product designDemonstrated hands-on approach in a development lab environmentProficiency in engineering, problem solving, experimental design and data analysisKnowledge of manufacturing and process development activities such as qualification, validation, design of experiments, FMEA and design for manufacturingExperienced with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
