Development Engineer II

The Development Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing products and systems to meet specific requirements. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to innovate and improve products, ensuring they are functional, reliable, and efficient. The Development Engineer will also contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies within the organization. Responsibilities: Bring new projects from and R&D phase to commercialization by independently communicating and collaborating across the R&D, commercial and operations functionalities Developing innovative solutions to complex problems and soliciting creative concepts from other technical specialists Organizing and executing bench, laboratory, pilot, and production plant field trial for process and product development projects Developing, coordinating, directing, and participating in assigned process and product development projects Designing and conducting experiments to prove feasibility of new process and new products concepts to demonstrate the need of the market or customer is met Providing recommendations for safe equipment operation and appropriate application of available technology and participate is safety walks as needed Proposing, testing, and proving new technology concepts to improve and/or change the actual process Leading cross-functional teams, utilizing strong communication techniques Using Adaptive Coaching for communication, goal alignment, problem solving, and career planning Designing and managing fabrication of prototype equipment as required Prepare technical reports, papers, and presentations for internal and external audiences. Interacting with the Engineering Group, proposing and demonstrating the best for the case of new lines expansion and/or acquisitions Qualifications & Experience: + Broad experience in research & development of innovative products from R&D phase to commercialization using a stage gate process; 1 – 4 years (IE. lab to pilot to full-scale) + Ideal candidate will have experience in performing and supporting product development work and production trials in a manufacturing environment. + 4-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing/Chemical/Engineering/Automotive facility required + Bachelor’s degree in chemical or engineering required, masters preferred + Proficient in the use of personal computers and Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Power Point) + Ability to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries to manage, plan and complete product development + Holds a Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred If you are interested in being part of a world class function here at Alkegen then we would love to hear from you.
