We are seeking a talented and experienced Development Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing production processes to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production.
This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and continuously improving our manufacturing operations.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and optimize production processes to improve efficiency and quality.Develop and maintain production schedules to meet business objectives and customer demands.Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during the production process and implement effective solutions.Collaborate with design, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure product specifications are met.Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes.Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.Monitor production equipment and ensure it is maintained and operating efficiently.Evaluate and implement new technologies and techniques to improve production processes.Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.Develop plans and lead new product engineering teams to ensure optimum use of time and resources.Provide technical leadership, ensuring that team performance is aligned and contributes to the overall goals of the business unit.Serve as a subject matter expert and influencer to make complex decisions based on advanced analytical expertise to develop innovative solutions and support the decision-making process.Apply a breadth and depth of engineering skills to develop engineering solutions to complex problems within time, cost, and quality constraints.Support the bid and proposal process by leading a portion of the technical proposal effort, including coordinating with other engineering disciplines to identify and manage dependencies to ensure work packages within assigned area will be delivered.Remain current on trends and emerging technologies and tools, including safety, environmental protection, and compliance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations.
