About the Development/Integration Lead Role:
The Banner Platform serves as Humber's core Student and Financial Information System. It plays a vital role in supporting the Digital Student Experience (DSX) initiative, which prioritizes three key areas: Enterprise Web Strategy, Enrolment and Admissions Transformation, and Digital Identity.
In partnership with the Business Product Ownder, the Development/Integration Lead will provide the technical leadership for the implementation of an industry-defining comprehensive Banner Platform solution. Ellucian's Banner Student and Finance systems deliver significant value to institutions by streamlining and integrating critical administrative processes. Banner Student supports the entire student lifecycle, from registration, academic records, and graduation, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for both students and staff. Meanwhile, Banner Finance enhances financial operations by providing automated workflows and robust reporting tools to manage budgeting, accounting, and procurement. Together, these solutions empower institutions to improve operational efficiency, enhance decision-making, and deliver a superior experience that meets the evolving needs of students and administrators.
The Technical Lead is accountable for the end-to-end technical implementation that is aligned to and in compliance with enterprise standards and industry best practices. The technical lead will have oversight of solution design, infrastructure design, technical risk management, release planning, and risk reporting. Leading a team of product development technical team members, the Technical Lead will act as a bridge between vendor and Humber teams. The Technical Lead will ensure that solution can be operationalized effectively to continuously deliver on Humber’s goals and business outcomes.
Working with the Enterprise Architecture team, the Technical Lead plays a key role in identifying the technology intersection between solutions, promoting collaboration and alignment to product goals, and championing technical best practices.
Key responsibilities:
Lead a team of technical professionals (application administrators, application engineers, integration developers, consultants) to design and implement a Student Information System and Financial Information System solution using Ellucian's Banner PlatformContribute technical expertise and product knowledge tothe overall platform strategy and delivery planCollaborate with peer Technology Product Owners, Business Product Owners, and other Technical leads to ensure that initiatives are delivered on time and within scopeActively participate in work planning activities to progressively plan and refine work plans, ensure agreement and commitment on work, adjust as required and successfully deliver on each work cycle as plannedWork closely with functional leads and solution architects to provide input on overall architecture and ensure functional designs mapped to product features and functionality to support business outcomesEnsure technical work products developed are appropriately aligned and integrated and meet defined functional and architectural requirements and Humber standards and frameworksManage relationship with the implementation partner, and perform regular reviews on the deliverables, and ensure alignmentProvide strategic insights on integration points and timing considerations for incorporating new multi-cloud components into existing or new enterprise application ecosystems including ERP interfaces, automated or semi-automated jobs, access to distributed data sources, iPaaS / vendor adapters, and ITS departmental processes Oversee the system configuration and documentation including technical artifacts to articulate the technical design and implementation of the solution, including required decision notes, solution design documents, data migration elements of the business solution, solution architecture documents, presentations, briefing notes, and reportsIdentify technical risks and issues and work with the implementation team members to develop plans to mitigate and/or resolveSupport the technical testing of the solution across multiple environments (e.g. dev/test/prod)Support change management efforts, guiding changes made to the systems and processesEnsure industry practices, compliance requirements and internal policies for information privacy and security are applied in all aspects of the technical solutionShare and collaborate with portfolio technical leads and technology product owners on, technical best practices, and ensure alignment in the execution of portfolio-related activitiesFind Your Spot at Humber
