Constructive Partnerships Unlimited (CPU) is a New York nonprofit organization that provides supports and services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). CPU operates in every New York City borough and in the Hudson Valley.
CPU’s Development and Fundraising department is less than a year old. This is a fun and unique opportunity for someone to support the growth of an organization’s development efforts in both infrastructure and strategy. The Development Intern will work alongside the Director of Development and take an active role in all projects, events, and campaigns.
Key responsibilities include:
Event Planning:
Attending and coordinating logistics for fundraising, prospect outreach, and cultivation events.
2025 Events Calendar:
• March: Networking Happy Hour, Hudson Valley
• April 29: Comedy Show, Manhattan (Gotham Comedy Club)
• April: Disability Inclusive Open Mic, Staten Island
• June: Nikon partnered fundraiser, Manhattan
Prospecting: Researching and identifying potential donors and event attendees through various channels like online databases, networking, and community outreach.
Relationship Management: Maintaining relationships with existing donors through personalized communication, regular updates, and stewardship activities.
Fundraising Campaigns: Assisting in the planning, execution, and follow-up of fundraising campaigns including digital appeals and special events.
Database Management: Maintaining accurate donor information in a CRM system (Bloomerang), tracking giving history, and generating reports to analyze fundraising performance.
Communication & Marketing Support: Developing and circulating marketing and event materials.
Qualifications:
• A passion for human service and building a brighter future for New Yorkers with I/DD.
• Enjoys networking and meeting new people.
• Desire to learn new skills and confidence to propose new ideas or better practices.
• Comfortable leveraging AI.
• Excellent proficiency in Office 365 and ability to learn new programs (Bloomerang, Constant Contact, Qgiv, Canva)
• Ability to travel for events.
• Graphic Design and UI/UX Skills are a major plus.
