About the team

We consistently develop and deliver new features onto our live platform. This platform handles millions of merchant transactions around the clock. These features along with our ability to consistently deliver them make us stand out in the highly competitive payments business. Our engineering team is critical to our mission - we are fundamentally a technology company. We succeed by offering innovative features to our merchants while retaining the reliability, quality, and fault tolerance they require. 

Future platform development work utilizes a microservices cloud-based architecture with best of breed technologies to promote easier scaling and maintenance.  The development environment aims to continually improve as new technologies are considered, fit for purpose, implemented, deployed, and optimized.  Service codebases rely on a large suite of automated tests to help find defects early in the life cycle.  Software development teams have true ownership of services as they build, release, and operate. 

What you’ll own

About the role:
In a Development Management role, your skills will be at the core of changing the way the world pays, banks and invests. You’ll plan and manage application development and client delivery activities that range from small and simple software applications, to components of large and complex software applications.
 

About the team:

Designing and developing applications while managing the full software development lifecycle.Performing product design, bug verification and beta support.Working as a manager with responsibility for employee hiring, termination, career development, performance appraisals and pay reviews.  Identifying and allocating technical resources and forecasting resource needs. Consuming technical requirements and decomposing features and estimating effort required to deliver.Managing a team consisting of about 6 Engineers, 2 QA, 1 Product Owner, 1 Scrum MasterAnalyze and propose architectural decisions for our payment processing systems (SaaS) for new and existing features keeping in mind high availability and large volumes of transactions.End to end platform monitoring, deployment, integrationCloud migrations of monolithic applications

Where you’ll own it

While we’re a large team of Worldpayers based in North America, we have collaborative spaces and regular opportunities to celebrate with each other in person.  This role will be based in our recently opened Burlington, MA office and will be expected to work in a hybrid work model.

What you bring

The ability to lead a team effectively under pressure.

Experience interacting with executive level clients.

A background analyzing client's business needs and determining support.

A bachelor’s in computer science or the equivalent experience.

Hands-on experience as a Developer/Engineer/Architect who has developed product in a similar environment

Critical availability to ensure little to no downtime for customer access

Experience working in an Agile environment

Understanding of automated testing vs manual testing, integration vs end to end testing

Messaging background (Kafka preferred)

Relational Database experience

End to end or platform monitoring

Added bonus if you have:

Experience with payment processing

Rally/Jira

AWS Experience

The pay range for this full-time position is $115,590.00 - $194,180.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
