The CentraCare Foundation mission is to engage the philanthropic community in a partnership to improve health and health care in our service area. In 2023, the Foundation embarked on the largest campaign in its history with the “Our Health Our Future: The Campaign for Making Rural Life Healthier”. This 10-year vision includes an initial philanthropic investment of $50 million to support the new University of Minnesota Medical School CentraCare Regional Campus – St. Cloud opening in 2025.
The position is responsible for securing philanthropic support in support of "Making Rural Lives Healthier" campaign and other initiatives confirmed by CentraCare Foundation Leadership. The Development Officer-Central Market (DO) will be charged with qualifying, cultivating and managing relationships to secure support from high potential individuals and corporations. The DO will develop long-term relationships to cultivate these individuals interests in CentraCare that will lead to six-figure and seven-figure+ solicitations.
The DO will develop and manage a personal portfolio of 125 prospects and donors. The position will report directly to the Development Director, Programs. The DO will work closely with Chief Development Officer, the CEO, Foundation Board, other CentraCare leaders and volunteers to achieve positive outcomes. This candidate will support the One CentraCare initiative and Our Best Begins with Me at all times. In addition, they support and implement patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.

Major Gifts (80%) Qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward approximately 75-90 prospects and donors with capacity of $50,000 or greater. Conduct at least 90 strategic moves (visits) with prospects and donors per year and achieve other standards and metrics. Follow and meet organizational benchmarks and historic data to set and track fund raising goals each year. Performance expectations for the DO include approximately 15 solicitations per year at $10,000+. Progressively advancing to $500,000 secured in personal solicitations on an annual basis. The DO will utilize various giving methods such as current, deferred giving, and non-cash gifts Develop written plans and collaborate to formulate strategies designed to realize the current and lifetime giving potential of individual prospects and donors. Ensure consistent and appropriate contact as well as effective stewardship. Maintain meticulous records of activities and actions and produce reports us Salesforce CRM. Promote Thompson values-based estate planning program, closes and documents planned gift declarations. The professional Thompson Associate facilitates private planning process with the client/donor prospect. Share activities and work with Director of Development, Chief Development Officer, and other staff and development colleagues as necessary for transparency. Community Relations, Annual, Events, and Other (20%) Work in partnership with annual gifts team to support growth of annual and event fundraising initiatives. Provide support in recruiting and managing and possibly leading an appropriate volunteer committee or committee members. Conduct continuous community relations activities that highlight CentraCare Foundation, the impact of healthcare philanthropy, and charitable giving opportunities Act as a fiduciary and follow the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy Donor Bill of Rights. Develop and maintain strong relationships with leaders and colleagues throughout the system, by demonstrating leadership in the development community. Collaborates closely with the entire CentraCare Foundation Team.Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree an accredited institution. 2 years Experience in fundraising Exercise discretion and an ability to interact with high-level donors and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Excellent oral, written communication and strong interpersonal skills with an entrepreneurial mindset is required. Demonstrated experience at the advanced level in the use of Microsoft Office Porducts (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook). Experience in healthcare philanthropy preferred. Experience in community organizing, project management, team and relationship building required. Experience working in a complex not-for-profit organization. Critical and creative thinking skills required. Must be willing to travel and work a variety of hours as required. A valid Minnesota Class D driver's license and a driving record in good standing, and the minimum amount of insurance liability coverage required.
