We serve and enhance human dignity for people of all faiths and beliefs. **Last year, Catholic Charities served 44,251 people in 16 counties across Central Minnesota** **JOB SUMMARY** The Development Officer is responsible for continuing the growth of Catholic Charities’ donor base in scope, in number of gifts, average gift, and dollars raised. This position specifically focuses on researching, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding our Circle of Hope and Evergreen Societies through raising gifts at the $5,000 level and above, as well as successful ask for and close event sponsorship gifts at $5,000 and above. This person must also identify, qualify, solicit, and steward donors, and also make introductory and follow-up phone calls regarding requests for major donations. Responsibilities of the position also require the Development Officer to effectively respond to letter, email, and telephone inquiries from supporters about bequests, major gifts, and sponsorships, and communicate with donors to inform them of Catholic Charities goals, programs, and major-gift opportunities including Circle of Hope Society and Event Sponsorships. **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in a related field **Experience** : Three (3) years of fundraising or relevant experience **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + Demonstrated ability to plan and execute major gift activities, including ability to ask for and close gifts of $5,000 and above + Able to ask leading questions that encourage prospects and donors to talk about themselves and their activities + Ability to motivate and encourage people to be involved in the major gift cultivation and solicitation process + Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines + Able to articulate the mission and programs of Catholic Charities to a diverse constituency, including Catholic and Non-Catholic denominations **What you earn and benefits:** + PTO (22 days your first year) + 8 paid holidays + Extended paid leave (5 days) + Health insurance + Waive-off credit for those who have other group health insurance + Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D) + Optional life insurance coverage for yourself, spouse and/or dependents + Optional Short and Long-term disability insurance + Pre-tax (Flexible Spending) Accounts for medical, dependent care and adoption expenses + 401(k) plan with agency match + Employee Assistance Program + Employee Discount Program + Wellness Program + the **Federal Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness Program** To apply for this position, please send your resume to hr@ccstcloud.org (Jennifer.Josephs@ccstcloud.org) or apply online at www.ccstcloud.org .
