Provides technical and fundamental understanding for products and process attributes. Reviews experiment designs, conducts experiments and reviews results against customer specifications and potential for cost reduction, process improvements, etc. for the business. Recognized as an expert in an area of science or technology. Documents and communicates project or experiment results. Provides the analytical tools to support business projects, manufacturing sites and competitive analysis
Develops and applies key fundamental knowledge to critical product attributes and impact on production process Assists in assessing root cause and long term issues with manufacturing upsets Designs and runs experiments, analyzes the data, and gives inputs and recommendations based on findings Maintains and operates state of art lab Supports new product concepts through testing, prototypes, etc Provides technical leadership in troubleshooting May supervise direct reports Mentors technicians and entry level engineers Identifies and prioritizes necessary tools and resources Serves as a technical lead on teams and/or provides technical expertise to project teams May collaborate with marketing to get customer requirements and needs as well as feedback Develops conceptual designs and specifications for systems Participates in the innovation process and provides technical expertise on a project team Documents findings and communicates learnings through RTR Reports May work independently or with cross-functional teams to design and test equipment M.S. in technical field and related experience or Ph.D. in technical field Academic or research experience Design experience Has worked through challenging projects Has worked on diverse teams Ph.D. in technical field Has global experience Has worked closely with manufacturing and/or engineering
