The Development Scientist I for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for participating in development and commercialization of Hematology and Urinalysis laboratory instrumentation. This position is part of the R&D Shared Services located in Miami, FL and will be an on-site role. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time. You will be a part of the Hematology/Urinalysis Verification and Validation team and report to the R&D Manager, V&V responsible for managing verification and validation teams and is accountable for technical project direction, project planning and decisions within their area of responsibility and for setting project goals and milestones within the team in line with the corporation’s objectives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Participate in the development and commercialization of Hematology/Urinalysis laboratory instrumentation. + Execute experiments, analyze results and present conclusion to teams. + Communicate project status and experimental data with cross-functional teams, at all levels and across different cultures via verbal and written communication. + Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain timelines for multiple projects. + Performs lab and office administrative tasks, including test material acquisition, equipment acquisition, and lab organization. The essential requirements of the job include: + A minimum of a BS or BA degree in Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology or medical related sciences) and 3+ years of laboratory experience. + Training in Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or medical related sciences), Laboratory Medicine, or other related clinical chemistry experience + Knowledge of good laboratory practices and scientific methods. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Working knowledge of basic statistical method, including proficiency in the use of Excel for data analysis and presentation. + Proven experience in R&D, verification and/or validation. The hourly range for this role is $26.00-$32.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
