Development Tools Software Engineer
**Job Description** The Validation of Intel Architecture (VIA) team, a globally recognized leader in CPU software tools, is seeking a skilled Development Tools Software Engineer. As part of our dynamic team, you will contribute to the development of tools for future CPU architectures that define the technological landscape. Our team is known for its expertise and works collaboratively with Intel software and hardware engineers internationally. In this role, you will lead the creation, implementation, and optimization of software tools supporting diverse domains such as design, manufacturing, validation, silicon production, systems integration, software application products, or ecosystem enabling. Your responsibilities will encompass utilizing modern software development methodologies, programming languages, domain knowledge, and secure coding practices to design, develop, debug, and validate algorithms, software tools, and systems. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: + Lead the development and implementation of software tools for various domains, including design, manufacturing, validation, silicon production, systems integration, software application products, and ecosystem enabling. + Collaborate closely with Intel's software and hardware engineers across global teams to design and develop impactful tools. + Utilize a broad spectrum of programming languages, from low-level assembly to higher-level languages like C++ or Python. + Implement modern software development methodologies and secure coding practices to ensure the quality, efficiency, and scalability of your designs. + Share your expertise and passion for software development and computer engineering by mentoring junior team members. + Stay updated with the latest advancements in Intel's leading processors, BIOS, operating systems, compiler optimizations, and related technologies. + Play a crucial role in the process of bringing Intel's future products to market. The ideal candidate will exhibit the following : + Strong knowledge and expertise in x86 architecture. + Strong foundation and understanding of data structures, algorithms, programming concepts and principles. + Advanced knowledge of the architecture, systems, simulation environment, development methods. + Ability to analyze and simplify complex hardware designs into simple performance models within existing simulator + Good Communication skills, problem solving skills and producing results in a fast-paced environment. **Qualifications** You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Software engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline with at least 9 years in x86 arch experience and software development + OR Master's degree in Software engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline with at least 7 years in x86 arch experience and software development + Your experience should be in the following: + Experience in x86 arch experience + Experience in software development + Experience in Python, C++/C and Object-Oriented Programming **Inside this Business Group** The Client Computing Group (CCG) is responsible for driving business strategy and product development for Intel's PC products and platforms, spanning form factors such as notebooks, desktops, 2 in 1s, all in ones.
